We’ve had a great little break from our last busy competitive season and it’s time to start looking at the calendar again for upcoming opportunities! First up is our own in-house Compassion First comp.
FEB 8 Saturday- Compassion First Team Throwdown- Rx, Scaled, Teens- MMM or FFF
This year we’re changing up the format a bit and going with teams of 3-same gender. We’ll be posting more info like times, heats, and WOD’s as the date gets closer. If you’re not interested in working out on a team, but would like to be involved, we would certainly appreciate any volunteers! $30 per person and we’ll have a registration option in the store sometime this week. Our in-house competitions and events are an awesome introduction into competitive CrossFit if you’ve never done one, or if you’re experienced, consider this a nice little tune up before the other comps on the calendar. So far, the plan is for this to be all Harvest athletes, but we may extend an invitation to the other local gyms to contribute to the Compassion First cause.
MAR 7 Saturday- Battle at the Beach- MMM or FFF- Newport Oregon. This is the 3rd of 5 Mid Valley Battle Series Competitions and our friends at Newport CrossFit are hosting. So far, each of these small comps have been awesome experiences! A little larger than an in-house event, but not nearly the size of a NW Fit games comp. $150 per team
APRIL 18 Saturday- 3rd Annual Family Throwdown- West Salem CrossFit. Adult + Child (MM, M/F, or F/F). The teams don’t need to be related and there’s divisions based on the kid. Kids 8-10, Tweens 11-14, Teens 15-18. Last year, we had an absolute blast and are really excited about this year’s event! $95 a team. Hint: all of our teens are monsters and very competitive, so if you’re interested… just don’t slow them down. $95 per team.
MAY 16 Saturday- Hammer Down at Harvest CrossFit- MF teams. Rx, Scaled, Masters, Teens. The 4th of 5 MVBS events is hosted by us at Harvest. This is the big one! If you’re not competing, which you should, we need volunteers to judge, run score sheets, organize etc. And not to scare or discourage anyone, but I’m going full sadist with the programming for this one. My goal is for when the series is said and done, people will call our comp “the hard one”! I guarantee that more than one Rx person will complain about the programming being unreasonable. muah hahaha
