Many of you have been training at Harvest going on two or even three years, and I’m willing to bet that you could easily think of what your body needs in a good warm up! Some of you walk in on autopilot and that’s ok too. “Just tell me what to do coach!!!!”

If you want to know a secret, warming up is always a guess.  Any combination of movements that prepares your whole body will do. On a daily basis, it looks like the warmup relates directly to the workout and it does, but you’d probably be just as prepared for tomorrow’s WOD after doing yesterday’s warm-up.

If you really must have more direction here’s some ideas. Before the fist event// Go on a jog, stretch your hips, hamstrings and ankles. Do any number of squats. Squat and press until they feel easy, no hot corners or soreness through your knees and shoulders. Once you can do a couple of squats or presses without any typical tightness, do something to breath hard briefly. Some burpees usually do the trick, but don’t get wild!

Before the heavy event build up to your opening weight and don’t take it more than once. Stay loose until go time.

Before the third event, wiggle around a little bit, try to convince yourself you want to work out again!
